On the sidelines of the forum


1. Exhibition of Statistics
On the sidelines of the World Statistics Day’s Forum, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics organizes a display of the main images that track the census operations conducted in previous decades in Qatar, as well as the chief tools and devices used by the persons in charge of the census.


2. Bulletin (Qatar; Monthly Statistics):
A stand is allocated for user satisfaction survey over (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin which has been released since February 2014. The bulletin features a number of variables of population, social, and economic  statistics  in the State of Qatar. The survey aims at measuring the feasibility of the available monthly data seeking to benefit from the survey outcomes in developing  and improving the bulletin’s content.
Among the statistics included in the bulletin (Qatar; Monthly Statistics), there are the population estimates, cases of marriage and divorce, natality and mortality, social security, imports and exports, vessels’ movement at Qatar ports, traffic statistics and accidents, e-government data, Qatar Stock Exchange performance and monetary sector, CPI, consumer confidence in the economic performance, and Business Confidence Index.

A resolution was adopted by the United Nations general assembly, designating 20 October as the World Statistics Day. The General Assembly decided to celebrate World Statistics Day on 20 October every five years. This year’s celebrations comes under the general theme “Better data. Better lives”.
