The Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics has released the 42nd edition of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) which is released on a monthly basis to highlight detailed statistics in the State of Qatar recorded during the period June 2017 in addition to glance from 2015 census results.
This edition highlighted significant increase in number of Beneficiaries of Social Security as it has reached 14,180 beneficiary during June 2017. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 5.4% in comparison to last month, May 2017. The bulletin has shown an increase in the total value of Social Security, as it has reached 83 Million Qatari Riyal during June 2017. The figure has registered a monthly increase of 6.2% in comparison to last month, May 2017.
The demographic statistics of bulletin shows that Qatar’s population has reached more than 2.5 million at end of June 2017, attaining an annual increase of 2.8% compared with population at end of June 2016 where population accounted for approximately 2.5 million.
In regard with Vital Statistics, a total number of 2,118 births has been registered in June 2017, on the other hand, 201 death cases were recorded during the same month.
On another aspect, the total number of registered marriages was 206 contracts at June 2017, while the total no of divorce cases was 55 declarations during the same month.
In regard to electricity and water consumption rate, the bulletin showed that the total electricity utilization value during June 2017 was 4,323 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 3.7% compared with last month. The bulletin also showed that the total value of water consumption has reached 44,340 Thousand m3 during the same month, registering a monthly decrease of 3.3%.
As for building permits information, the bulletin shows the total number of building permits has reached only 411 permits during June 2017, and thus recorded a monthly decrease of 43.5% in comparison to May 2017.
In regard to traffic cases, a total of 487 traffic cases were recorded during June 2017, resulting in a monthly decrease of 12.7% in comparison with previous month May 2017 where it reached only 558 traffic cases. At the same instance, 17 death cases were recorded during June 2017.
The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of registered vehicles has reached 4,471 during June 2017. The figure has registered a monthly decrease of 41.6% compared to last May 2017, where the total number of registered vehicles was 7,651 new vehicles.
The bulletin shows that the total number of visitors reached about Million and 464 Thousand visitors from the beginning of the year until June 2017, which an annual increase of 1.5% compared to total number of visitors during the same period in 2016, where it has reached a total of only Million and 442 Thousand visitors.
The largest number of visitors are coming from Gulf countries with a percentage of 43.7%. In regard with passenger’s movement, the total number of arrivals to Doha has registered an annual decrease of 22% during June 2017, as the total number of arrivals to Doha has reached 246 Thousand passengers.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about 532 Billion Qatari Riyals during the month of June 2017 showing an annual increase of 7.7% compared with June 2016 from last year. On the other hand, cash equivalents (including deposits) attained for 771 Billion Qatari Riyal during June 2017. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 12.7% in comparison with June 2016 from last year, as it recorded approximately 684 Billion Qatari Riyals.
