In the New Edition of “Qatar; Monthly Statistics” Bulletin 7.4% monthly increase in the Total electricity generated during July 2022

An annual increase in the commercial banks’ deposits estimated in the public and private sectors at 12.1% and 9.9% respectively. 
A monthly decline in traffic accident cases, with a monthly change rate of 15.7% during July 2022 compared to previous month.
A monthly decrease in total traffic violations by 1.6% during July 2022 compared to June 2022. 

The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 103rd issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis.  In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during July 2022 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census. 

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the rise in the Market General Index at a monthly rate of 9.7% (compared to June 2022) and at annual increase rate of 24.3% (compared to July 2021). As for the banking sector, the Money Supply (M2) in the State of Qatar remained stable with a positive monthly change rate of 0.03% compared to June 2022, while the annual change rate of money supply grew by 10.6% (compared to July 2021).

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.38 million at July 2021 to 2.66 million at July 2022. Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2222 live births have been registered during July 2022. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 10.2% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 213 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 19.7% compared to June 2022. 

Moreover, July 2022 witnessed a monthly decrease of 24.9% and  31.1% of total marriage contracts and the total divorce certificates for each one separately compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 280 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 184 cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 78 Million Qatari Riyals in July 2022, for 14495 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 0.2% for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.4% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.


Total electricity consumption during July 2022 was 5548.6 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 7.4% and an annual increase of 0.7%. While the total water consumption has reached 57408.3 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 1.4% and an annual decrease of 0.5% comparing to July 2021.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 675 Billion Qatari Riyals during July 2022, an annual increase of 10.6% compared with July 2021. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 965 Billion Qatari Riyals during July 2022. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 1.2% compared to July 2021, when deposits recorded approximately 954 Billion Qatari Riyals.

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 550 permits during July 2022, recording a monthly decrease of 27.2% and an annual increase of 3.4%.
The total number of registered new vehicles during July 2022 has reached 5849 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 27% and an annual increase of 7.5%. 

Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 629 traffic cases were recorded during July 2022, showing a monthly decrease of 15.7% and an annual increase by 24.3%. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 92.4%, followed by severe injuries by 4.5%. However, 20 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 3.2% of total traffic accidents cases.

As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 150 thousand, recording a monthly increase of 3.3% (compared to June 2022) and an annual increase of 292.9% (compared to July 2021). The highest number of visitors was from the GCC countries at 62%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via land make up the highest percentage with 55% of the total number of visitors.
