In the New Edition of “Qatar; Monthly Statistics” Bulletin Market General Index Increased by Monthly Rate of 5.9% Compared To October 2020, with Annual Increase Rate of 1.1% Compared To November 2019.

​​The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 83th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis.  In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during November 2020 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2015 Census. 

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the rise in the number and value of sold properties; a monthly increase of 2.0% and 35.9%, respectively (compared to October 2020) and an annual increase of 76.2% and 54.3% (compared to November 2019). Al Wakrah Municipality recorded the highest monthly and annual increase, with 81 properties sold for 355.9 million Qatari riyals. 

Furthermore, among the most notable changes is the increase in total deposits and total credit at a monthly rate of 1.0% and 0.2%, respectively (compared to October 2020), and an annual increase of 6.5% and 9.7%, respectively (compared to November 2019).

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has decreased from 2.77 million during November 2019 to 2.72 million at end of November 2020.

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2305 live births have been registered during November 2020. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 10.3% compared to last month. On the other hand, 168 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 25.7% compared to October 2020. 

Moreover, November 2020 has experienced a monthly decrease by 19.8% in marriage contracts while it experienced a monthly increase 1.0% in divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts was 390 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces has reached 193 divorce cases. 
As for the Social Security statements, reached 83 Million Qatari Riyals in November 2020, for 14512 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly increase of 4.1% and 1.7%   for the value of social security and for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security respectively.

Total electricity consumption during November 2020 was 3266.0 GWh attaining a monthly decrease of 21.4% and an annual increase of 0.6%. While the total water consumption has reached 54825.3 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 8.1% and an annual rise of 0.8%. 

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 762 permits during November 2020, recording a monthly increase of 4.2% and an annual rise of 13.2%.

Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 598 traffic cases were recorded during November 2020, showing a monthly increase of 12.0% and an annual decrease by 1.6%. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 86%, followed by severe injuries by 12%. However, 12 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.

The total number of registered new vehicles during November 2020 has reached 5069 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 10.7% and an annual decrease of 10.9%. 

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 583.1 Billion Qatari Riyals during November 2020, an annual increase of 3.5% compared with November 2019. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 884.8 Billion Qatari Riyals during November 2020. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 6.5% compared to November 2019, when deposits recorded approximately 830.5 Billion Qatari Riyals.
